Zoomerang

As an online survey app, the FREE, basic subscription offers
  • Unlimited number of surveys, with up to 12 questions and 100 responses each
  • Access to over 100 survey templates
Once a survey has been created, bookmark it for students on their computers, email the survey to interested parties, post on Facebook, Twitter…just too many options for sharing.
Use surveys and polls
  • to engage students in their opinions about favorite movies, books, cartoon characters
  • to collect feedback on a school activity or event
  • to sample students’ knowledge of a topic
  • to poll opinions about political events, issues, candidates then compare with the local, state, and national outcomes
And don’t overlook the many times a poll/survey can benefit the professional educator.
  • to determine workshop topics
  • to identify the success of parent conferences
  • to poll for suggested academic or building policy changes
  • and, of course, to “vote” for the day of the staff holiday parties!

PDFescape

This tool has just been released, and is still in “beta” version, but it just might change your life. Consider an online application or form that must be downloaded, printed, hand-completed, and then faxed or snail mailed. With PDF escape, simply download the pdf to your desktop, then upload the specific form to PDF escape, create text fields, complete the form, save it, and attach it to an email.
Does your school have PDFs on the district server that must be filled and submitted? Perhaps, you have PDFs for a grant project that you must complete or different members of the committee are responsible for various sections. Maybe you have students completing PDFs for college applications. Whatever your need when working with PDFs, PDF escape, may be your salvation.
Download the  State of OHIO Lesson Plan template.  If you use the Lesson Plan template, you will have to “replace” the placeholder information.  Select the Whiteout tool, then click/drag over the “unwanted” text.  (If you don’t select ALL of the text, readjust, by expanding/contracting the “points” on the whiteout box.)  Next, select the Text tool, click where you want to type and begin typing.

Popplet

Rather than telling you about Popplet, take a look @ this short introductory video.

Here’s a Popplet I made in a few short minutes.

Popplet is useful as an introductory site for collaboration, individual/group brainstorming, research/organizing, and so much more. Now, create your account, and develop your own storyboard, diagram, or brainstorming activity. Here’s a screen shot to help you begin.
